Emma Approved!, Emma Woodmouse, lbd, mister bearcy, vidcon
So once again, I couldn’t help myself. But this time I blame B for being so pro active about creating a new knitted stuffed animal to play around in mister bearcy’s world by creating a new character : emma woodmouse after it was announced in the LBD kickstarter that Bernie and company would be doing another adaptation. So after it was announced at vidcon that Emma would be the next series, B informed me about her character which immediately made me start searching ravelry for a pattern (which can be found here if anyone else wants to knit this) and I was lucky enough to have M’s yarn stash at my disposal. So this basically took about 6 hrs? Probably less but there were some distractions and a location change. But either way, I’m so happy with the results! Here are some in progress photos along with a finished photo with myself and mister bearcy.
I love my friends 🙂 thank you for indulging me and joining me on this twitter personality journey! I can’t wait to see what happens next

lbd, mister bearcy, sushi, travel arrangements
I love my friends. We gather every Thursday night for dinner and to just hang out, sometimes craft or watch tv, always catching up and enjoying each other’s company. I look forward to Thursday’s every week for our weekly get together, and this week was no different. We got to spend time with a slightly larger group for happy hour at the local sushi joint and then spent the next 3 hrs or so at B’s house. I had time to work on my knitting and we eventually got down to the business of starting to plan out mister bearcy’s travel plans. We’ve had such a great response so far, and with a little under a week left for hosting submissions we believe he will be traveling around the world for almost a year straight! I really hope this works out well, I can’t wait to see the pictures of his travels. And once again, I find myself incredibly jealous of where he will be visiting. I’m hoping that there will be a chance for some of the fans to connect with other local fans so they can all meet and share this unique experience in person. It really amazing how much the Internet has changed the way we are able to connect and interact with fans.
I hope everyone has a great weekend coming up! After work today I’m headed out to LA for the opening of the Bad Robot art gallery. Then Sunday I’ll be headed out to the taste of HB 🙂

international bearcy, kal, kickstarter, lbd, lizzie bennet diaries, mister bearcy, mr bearcy, ravelry
so I’ve been meaning to post this for a couple days now
I joined the LBD ravelry group and started a Mr. Bearcy KAL for all the people who were interested in making their own. I was so happy that two people took me up on it and posted pictures of their finished bears! One is even international, all the way in Finland! I’m so proud, it’s almost as if I could take credit for the actual pattern or even the idea. I’m just going to settle for “I inspired others!” which is pretty great.
Anyways, for those who are fans of the show there is an incredibly successful kickstarter going on right now. And for those of you who follow me but are not watching (WHY AREN’T YOU WATCHING??!) the series is wrapping up so I promise my future posts will not be so LBD centric. Hopefully =)

contest, knitting callous, lbd, lizzie bennet diaries, mr bearcy, random thoughts
Today I noticed because I’ve been knitting so often lately that I’ve developed a small callous on my left finger, it reminded me of that old Simpson’s episode where Lisa learns how to quilt and has to earn her callous from hard work and patience.
I also wrote a small post on my Tumblr account in the hopes of winning some free signed LBD goods 🙂
oh, and I’m done with all of the bear parts of Mr. Bearcy 2.0, I just need to actually put him together, embroider the details, make a bow tie and figure out a new pattern for the hat. so…. hopefully I’ll be done with that by the weekend 🙂

Hopefully the pictures will show up this time. My previous post was all wordy and links, maybe the excitement and exhaustion made my brain unable to function in picture posing

If you follow me on twitter, fb, g+, or even now, tumblr you will notice that l have been a fan of the Lizzie Bennet Diaires for quite some time now. It has now reached a point where I have become like a drug dealer, slowly getting all of my friends hooked, who in turn get their friends/family hooked. So naturally, when the opportunity came up for my friends and I to MEET some of the very talented people involved with the series, we immediately bought tickets for the streamy meet the nominees panel. I then decided that it would be
creepy thoughtful if I knitted something for Ashley (the actress who plays Lizzie) in the hopes that if they are still filming videos, she would possibly wear it. So after that idea came to me, I absolutely HAD to do it, and l searched ravelry for a pattern that l thought would be something she might like. After reading all of her posts on tumblr about the clothing she chooses to wear/buy, it became very obvious that she likes Anthropologie (who doesn’t?!?) and that something with an interesting design would be best. I really love the pattern that I found (that I actually ended up knitting it twice…) which can be found here mainly for two reasons. 1. the bind detail and 2. the beautiful decreases, which are more obvious when blocked as you can tell. However I ended up giving Ashley my second hat because I’m not the best at blocking and there were a couple small mistakes in the first hat that made the perfectionist in me need to try the pattern over again. Thank goodness she posted a pic of herself wearing the hat because I, for some reason, am unable to attach photos to save my life tonight!!
As for Mr. Bearcy.. well that idea came to me immediately after he became a reality via the diary of a darcy tumblr post and I knew that I needed to make one for myself. Then on Saturday night as I was leaving Communicon, I realized that Bernie would be at the panel as well, and that he would be the best recipient for his very own Mr. Bearcy. So.. lets just say I was up very late knitting, taking short breaks for things like sleep and more fandom immersion for the second day of Communicon. Because I’m not the best at “winging” it while knitting, and I am also not the best at altering patterns, I’m really lucky that we were able to get an extra ticket to the panel tonight which allowed Mimi to join us. And because she is AMAZEBALLS and knows what I need without me ever having to ask, she instinctively knew to bring her crochet hook with her so that on the car ride over, she could make the hat. It makes me so happy to have such talented friends. If you’re interested in making your own Mr. Bearcy, I used a free pattern from knitpicks which can be found here. Looking at the picture of how the bear should look I’m realizing now that I don’t follow directions as carefully as I thought I did. Whoops! Once again, thanks to Ashley who posted this pic immediately. I felt so validated as the number of likes and reblogs on instagram and tumblr, I know that’s silly.
